Abdul shower
An Abdul shower (also known as a "Abdul Karim Qtifan's quick shower") is a method of showering that lasts more than 45 minutes.
Origin
This method of showering (and using the bathroom) was invented and used by Abdul Karim Qtifan.
The obligatory characteristics of the Abdul's quick shower are:
- staying in the bathroom more than 45 minutes (the total time for the water being on is usually around 30 minutes)
- one person in the bathroom should be listening to music (preferably from their iPhone).
The first relevant ocassion on which this was observed, was the morning of 30 March 2015[1]. Based on narrative sources[2], it was probably used by A.K.Qtifan before 2015.
Environmental and social impacts
Despite the lack of hard data on water consumption, it is clear that Abdul's quick shower uses much more water than the average shower. Spending too much time in the bathroom makes it difficult for Abdul to get to meetings on time. If he shares the bathroom with other people, his blocking of the bathroom means that the other people are also unlikely to stick to their planned schedules.
